Coronavirus deaths cross 13000, cases 300,000 worldwide

Coronavirus cases around the world have surpassed 300,000 with deaths from the disease topping 13000.

According to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, a total of 308,257 people were infected by SARS-CoV-2; 13,068 died from COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus; and 92,378 recovered from it.

China reported Covid-19 in its Wuhan province in December.

COVID-19 has so far affected a total of 188 countries and territories and an international conveyance (Diamond Princess, a cruise ship harboured in Yokohama, Japan) around the world.

Bangladesh reported its second coronavirus death on Saturday and confirmed four more new coronavirus cases, taking the total to 24.
