European Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic will participate in a meeting of G7 trade ministers later on Monday to discuss the uncertainty created by U.S. President Donald Trump’s introduction of new blanket 15% tariffs after a U.S. Supreme Court ruling on Friday.

A European Commission spokesperson said on Monday that the EU executive wanted full clarity on what the new developments meant for the EU-U.S. trade relationship and a return to stability and predictability.

The spokesperson said Sefcovic would join trade ministers from the G7 group of countries, also expected to include U.S. counterparts, to discuss the matter later on Monday.
