Jakarta residents to get 14,564 low-cost apartments

The Indonesian capital is set to see some new 14,564 low-cost apartments in the next five years, according to a report in The Jakarta Post.

The construction of some projects started two years back and at least 7,000 units will be ready by the end of this year, hopes Jakarta administration.

The apartments are in Nagrak, Rorotan, KS Tubun, Semper, Rawa Buaya, Pengadegan, BLK [Pasar Rebo], Rawa Bebek and Penjaringan.

According to the Jakarta administration’s mid-term regional development plan, the city aims to build around 250,000 homes for Jakarta residents.

The 14,564 low-cost apartment units will be specifically offered to residents with monthly earnings under US$290.
