Why is youth leadership in Bangladesh a must?

Youths act as the driving force of a nation, being the protagonists in issues ranging from social or cultural issues to national or global coevals. They infallibly lead a nation to vigil in every sphere of work.

The role of the beyond the boundary in any emergency case of a country or during the uprise of population, while indiscipline grabs the systems or the rulers oppress the general residents to subjugate them to ensure any specific agenda.

Bangladeshi youths depicted their knacks, either by movement or during national crises, ultimately freeing the nation from suppression and irregularities and ensuring freedom of speech and voting rights.

1952, 1990, or 2024—these years are the talk of the country, as this nation came to the streets, demanding their fundamental human rights, led by the youth, especially the students. The triumphant ending of those movements sends the message that youths do not lose against injustice or unfairness.

On 5th August 2024, when the autocratic leader Sheikh Hasina resigned as prime minister and fled from Bangladesh, the successful result of the 36-day movement led by the country's youths. That incident motivates the nation for the bravery and tactical power of the young generation, which extols the youth leadership, and why this is significant for the future of Bangladesh.

Youth minds are full of innovations, vigour, and creativity that can make a country financially and politically stable and create new dimensions toward positivity, which may be the burning question of today's Bangladesh.

The people of this country want to stop all kinds of irregularities at the organisational level and ensure a corruption-free state where they can live with equity and justice. 

As the youths proved themselves capable of ending oppression for a smooth democracy, the residents here are now dreaming of conquering the true meaning of their human rights and the country's progression through youth leadership, which may be a sustainable policy regarding progress feasibility.

Being updated regarding ongoing issues or pursuing technological advancement for mass or much-customised upliftment can be served well by the young generation, as they are well-equipped with technology and national or global trends.

Moreover, the young brain can think faster, make prudent decisions, and keep a sharp mentality to work hard, all of which assist in building a nation and vision for a progressive country.

Where the organizational structures and human rights modules completely broke down during the past government, now many people try to trust youths.

Besides, youths are habituated to exist in any sullen condition to cut the piece of penury, another reason why youth leadership is a must for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh's power has been almost polarised among some political parties for more than fifty years. People of this country have mixed opinions regarding the success of those parties. In some cases, they had more aspirations than those parties failed to fulfil.

Bangladesh is now ready to experience new sunshine, with the active leadership of youths inspiring the aspiration to dream new and reach a level of satisfaction in economic, social, and cultural advancement.

Many people want those heroic leaders in active politics who proved themselves in the July Revolution.

Through their creative minds, youths can contribute a new dimension to the picturesque beauty of a genuinely democratic country. Some also believe that youths may help reduce corruption, which is a traumatic and often ongoing scenario in Bangladesh, leading to irregularities, inflation, and discrimination.

Al Mashnun is the Senior Joint Member Secretary at Bangladesh Gonotantrik Chatra Sangsad. He was also the Co-coordinator of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement. He said, "The people of Bangladesh want youth leadership now, as they got frustrated from the previous leadership of the political parties. The ultimate victory came from the young generation, which means the youth are the heroes who can make a positive change in the country. We believe that we will change what the people of Bangladesh want."

"We will engage intellectuals with us to make our policies more sustainable. Democracy will be our priority, and we will work through the process where all classes of people can relate themselves with our party", added Mashnun.

The youth of Bangladesh have created significant momentum, which augments people's expectations of them. Their persistence in making positive changes has led to youths' involvement in the national arena, which may allow them to work more for the country.

People believe youth leadership can end discrimination, establish justice, and make policies for the country's advancement.
