“About 50-60 per cent of the raw material is collected during the Eid-ul-Azha.  The country loses 30 per cent of total rawhide every year for improper skinning and environmental protection,” the ministry said in a notification issued on Tuesday.

Commerce ministry urged all to put the skin with salt on a dry place quickly after removing it.

According to the notification, if 6-7 kg of salt is given well, the skin does not decompose easily, so it can be sold at a good price.
