Tk 51.11b allocated for housing and public works

Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed on Monday proposed to allocate Tk 51.11 billion for the housing and public works sector in the financial year 2025-2026 (FY26) which is Tk 2.11 billion less than the allocation in the revised budget in FY 2024-2025.

Of the proposed Tk 51.11 billion, Tk 20.79 billion has been allocated as revenue budget, while Tk 30.32 billion has been earmarked as the development budget.

The finance adviser said this while presenting the proposed national budget for FY26 in a pre-recorded speech broadcast on Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar.

In the budget of FY 2024-25, the allocation was Tk 6,929 while it was Tk 5,382 in revised budget of FY 25, Tk 15.47 billion less than the proposed budget.
