EWU Investment & Finance Club launches 'The Pitchers'

East West University Investment & Finance Club is back with another national event "The Pitchers" - an inter-university Pitch Deck based Training and Competition" with the tagline: ‘Shape Your Ideas’, sponsored by MASBA-Elite Business Club and powered by Humayra: Online Wedding Market. This year "THE PITCHERS" was launched on July 30, 2022, Saturday as a national event. The participants will be able to register for the event till August 16, 2022 and the main workshops and competitive rounds will be organised from August 17 to September 03, 2022.
Pitch Deck is the first portrayal of the business idea of entrepreneurs where they come up with their innovative idea and approach investors to invest in their business. In "The Pitchers", the participants can register for the training and competition programme with a team of two to three members. Three workshops will be there for the participating teams. The topic for Workshop 1 will be "Navigating Yourself through the Start-up Ecosystem". Workshop 2 will be hosted on "Financial Portion of a Pitch Deck". After successful completion of workshops 1 and 2, competitive rounds will be held.
The topic for Round 1 will be "Idea Submission" and Round 2 will be "Video Pitch and Financial Structure Submission". Then, the topic for Workshop 3 will be "Ultimate Pitch Grooming" where finalists will be groomed for the final battle round. In the final round, shortlisted competitors will present their final pitch in front of the Angel Investors for winning the ultimate tag of "Best Pitchers".
The top three pitchers will receive lucrative rewards as a part of the competition. The total prize pool would be worth Tk 60,000. The champion team will be awarded Tk 25,000, the first runner up Tk 20,000 and the second runner-up Tk 15,000. Along with the prize money, the participants will also receive certificates, trophies, and food vouchers worth Tk 6,000.
East West University Investment & Finance Club seeks to bring out the opportunity for the students to bridge the gap between the theoretical and practical corporate world by handling them with many different programmes. This time with "The Pitchers" the club intends to give students a slice of the realistic experience of pitching in front of actual angel investors and acquire knowledge and develop ideas for creative startups to emerge on their entrepreneurial journey.
