The victim students admitted to private medical colleges and their parents organised a human chain in front of the National Press Club demanding the cancellation of the automation system on Saturday.
More than a hundred students and parents took part in the human chain in front of the press club in Dhaka around 11:00 am.
They alleged that the automation system is a conspiracy of India to destroy the medical education sector of this country, according to a media release.
The students in the human chain said, “If we get a chance in any medical of our choice, we could stay with family and get family support. As studying medicine is very difficult, our family could help us emotionally.”
“We get a chance in medical colleges that we have never heard of before. That is why we are often mentally broken. But we have no choice.”
They claimed that many talented students are going abroad or moving to other sectors without getting into their preferred colleges. To save the medical education sector from the destruction, automation must be abolished, they said.
The participants held banners, and placards inscribing different slogans.
