IUT students secure prestigious ASME Foundation Scholarships

Ismat, a dedicated student specializing in Industrial and Production Engineering, and Ruqaiya, with a passion for Mechanical Engineering, have set themselves apart with their unwavering commitment to their fields of study and relentless pursuit of excellence. 

These remarkable individuals, driven by their insatiable curiosity and innovative thinking, are poised to make a significant impact as they embark on their academic journey, fueled by the well-deserved recognition of their exceptional abilities.

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a renowned professional organisation that serves as a global hub for mechanical engineering knowledge and innovation. With a history of over a century, ASME plays a pivotal role in advancing the engineering profession through its extensive network, technical resources, and educational initiatives.

At the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), the ASME Student Section is a dynamic platform for engineering students to engage, collaborate, and thrive. The student section fosters a vibrant community of aspiring engineers with a common passion for mechanical engineering and its diverse applications. 

The ASME Foundation scholarships of 2023 awarded to Ismat Ara Kaifa and Ruqaiya Islam Mishi underscore the exceptional caliber of the ASME IUT Student Section and its commitment to nurturing talent and fostering excellence. 

These scholarships, bestowed upon outstanding students, recognise academic achievements and provide invaluable opportunities for recipients to network with industry professionals, access cutting-edge research, and gain exposure to emerging trends and technologies.

Ismat Ara Kaifa possesses an exceptional grasp of optimising processes and elevating efficiency in manufacturing systems. Her unrivaled expertise in this domain has earned her the prestigious 'ASME Foundation Variable Scholarship 2023,' a remarkable recognition of her dedication and achievements. 

Ismat Ara Kaifa also received the highly acclaimed 'ASME Foundation Scholarship 2023.' This dual recognition is a testament to her extraordinary capabilities and unwavering engineering passion. 

Ismat expressed her emotions, saying, "I took three years to build a competitive portfolio to get the scholarship. I have often been criticized for not focusing entirely on my study, but without practical experience, theoretical knowledge will be nothing." 

She addressed her affiliation with ASME IUT Student Section and added, "Being in ASME Student Section at IUT helped me immensely in my journey. For which I will be forever grateful."

Ruqaiya Islam Mishi, on the other hand, excelled in Mechanical Engineering. By securing the highly esteemed 'ASME Foundation Variable Scholarship 2023,' Ruqaiya has embarked on a journey of mechanical innovation.  

When asked about the achievement, Ruqaiya expressed her gratitude for the opportunity. She further added, "I pledge to make the most of it. With humility, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to engineering excellence, I will continue to strive towards making a meaningful impact in the field and uphold the values championed by the ASME." 

About the scholarship, she said, "The ASME scholarship represents not only financial support but also a gateway to a network of brilliant minds and invaluable resources, propelling me further towards my aspirations.
