JU-IBA launches 'Tree Plantation Program' to achieve green campus

Aiming for a green campus, the Institute of Business Administration(IBA) has launched a tree plantation program by planting various fruit saplings on the western side of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Jahangirnagar University (JU). The program was officially inaugurated at 10 a.m. on Thursday (October 12) by Professor Bashir Ahmed, the Acting Dean of the Faculty.
During the inauguration, Professor Bashir Ahmed commended IBA-JU for its efforts in developing a green campus. He stated, "Collective participation is necessary to preserve the environment, and this will enhance the beauty of the campus."
He urged everyone to take care and preserve the aesthetics of the university.
Professor Dr K.M. Zahidul Islam, the Director of IBA-JU, said, "On the west side of the Faculty of Social Sciences, we planted various types of fruit seedlings, including litchi, olive, jamrul, Thai guava, Thai tamarind, wood apple, and berries. He expressed the need to care for the newly planted saplings and hope to plant more trees.
Professor Mohammad Nazmul Islam, Associate Professor Md. Alamgir Hossain, Assistant Professor Palash Saha, Ratul Kumar Saha, Md. BadrulAlamand students of the institute were present at the event.
