Jahangirnagar University (JU) will reopen tomorrow, Sunday, June 15, marking the end of its 25-day summer and Eid-ul-Azha break.
While administrative offices will be operational from Sunday, academic activities—including classes and examinations—are scheduled to restart on Monday, June 16.
As per an official notice, the academic break lasted from May 22 to June 15, while administrative offices remained closed from May 28 to June 12 in observance of the holidays.
To facilitate a smooth and secure return for students, the university has set up a dedicated control room. Students in need of assistance have been advised to contact the control room at 01765-339558.
Security measures have also been strengthened on campus. Police, Ansar members, and university security staff have been deployed at the main entry points. Ansar personnel will also be present at footbridges during nighttime, while Highway Police will monitor the nearby Dhaka-Aricha highway to enhance safety.
Many students have already started arriving on campus after spending Eid with their families. The university premises are gradually becoming livelier with the return of its residents.
“It’s refreshing to be back after Eid. Reuniting with friends has lifted my spirits, and I’m eager to resume academic life,” said Shimul Islam, a Chemistry Department student.
