Malaysian envoy meets DU VC

Malaysian High Commissioner in Bangladesh, Ms Haznah Md Hashim, paid a courtesy call to Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at the latter’s office of the university.

She was accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Language and Communication of the University of Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Prof. Mazura Mastura Muhammad, and the Head of Chancery of the High Commission, Mr Anis Wajdi Mohd Yusof. 

During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest, especially the possibility of strengthening ongoing collaborative academic and research programs among the University of Dhaka and higher educational institutions in Malaysia. 

The possibilities of publication of a research journal jointly by Dhaka University and the University of Pendidikan Sultan Idris, as well as the exchange of teachers and students among DU and different Malaysian universities, were also discussed in the meeting. 

Malaysian High Commissioner said a bilateral friendly relationship between Bangladesh and Malaysia has been prevailing for a long time. She hoped these friendly ties between the two countries will be further strengthened in the days to come. 

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr A S M Maksud Kamal thanked the High Commissioner for visiting Dhaka University and her keen interest in its academic and research activities.

Later, the Malaysian High Commissioner visited the Centre of Malay Studies at the Institute of Modern Languages of Dhaka University.
