Southeast University’s Department of Economics hosted Eco-Fest 2024-25 recently themed “Journey Together, Thrive Forever."
The festivities commenced with the inauguration by the Chief Guest, Prof. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam PhD, Vice Chancellor, Southeast University.
The opening segment included a visit to vibrant stalls, showcasing student initiatives and projects, followed by a tree plantation drive symbolising the department’s commitment to sustainability.
The academic session was formally initiated with a warm welcome speech by Dr. KaziTanvir Mahmud, Chairman of the Department of Economics.
Special Guest Prof. Dr Mohammed HelalUddin from the University of Dhaka presented a thought-provoking analysis of “The Impact of the July Revolution on the Economy of Bangladesh.”SEU’s Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Mofazzal Hossain emphasised the importance of collective effort and resilience in achieving progress and prosperity. Prof Dr Md. Abdul Hakim, Director of IQAC at SEU offered insights into the nuanced concept of the “Meaning of Development.”
The event concluded with a colourful cultural programme, where students from the Department of Economics showcased their talents, marking a vibrant end to a memorable day.
