Public university teachers and employees, including those at Dhaka University, continued their work abstention for the 4th consecutive day on Thursday, demanding their exclusion from the "Prottoy" scheme under the Universal Pension Scheme.

All university activities, including classes and examinations, remained suspended.

“Today's meeting between [Awami League General Secretary and Transport and Bridges Minister] Obaidul Quader and teacher leaders has been postponed. The minister will inform us about the rescheduled meeting tomorrow [Friday],” said Professor Dr Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan, president of the Dhaka University Teachers' Association (DUTA).
