UODA admission fair begins

Aims to get meritorious and poor students

The University of Development Alternative (UODA) has organised a fair for admission seekers of honors and masters programmes, aiming to get meritorious and poor students.

The admission fair started on Tuesday and it will continue until December 31 this year. The university authority held a press conference marking the fair at its campus in Dhanmondi of Dhaka on Tuesday.

While addressing the press conference, UODA founder and president Prof Mujib Khan said this universty has no commercial policy or trend from the beginning.

"We will continue non-profit policy in this university as we think education is not a commercial matter, it is a right for citizens," he said.

Mujib Khan announced to find out brilliant and poor students to provide educational opportunity for them, says a press release.

"UODA arranges this admission fair only to provide a scope to poor, underprivileged and bright students so that they can get higher education," he said.

The educationalist also assured that the university will set educational costs for underprivileged students after discussing with their parents.

"UODA authority will consider economical condition of students' families, educational background to fix the educational costs so that every bright students can get higher education," Mujib Khan added.

He also promised to provide scope of education and residential facilities without any cost for those who are invincible meritorious but poor.

UODA Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ahmedullah Mia, Registrar Prof Dr Iffat Chowdhury and other high officials were present at the press briefing.

The admission fair will remain open from 9.00am to 5.00pm at UODA registrar office (80, Satmasjid Road, Dhanmondi) and UODA CSE department (3/C Satmasjid Road, Dhanmondi).

It will also remain open on every holidays.
