Popular singer Ziauddin Ahmed Roni died at United Hospital in Dhaka on Thursday.
Roni had a stroke and was admitted to the hospital a week earlier. But his condition deteriorated and he was kept under life-support for past seven days, reports UNB.
The doctors declared him dead at the noon, said one of his fellows and popular singer Pantho Kanai.
His body was taken to his home town Nasirabad area of Chattogram city after completing his first namaz-e-janaza at his house in Uttara of the capital.
He will be laid to rest at Garibulla Sha graveyard in the Chattogram city after concluding his second namaz-e-janaza on Jomiyatul Falah Mosque ground in the Port City.
Zia was involved with music since his school life. His first band was 'Raymai', later, he joined another band 'Steeler' where he was popular vocalist. "Tumi ki amay ager moto valobaso" is one of his many famous songs.
