The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecasted heavy rainfall in three divisions, accompanied by intermittent showers.
However, there is also a possibility of varying rainfall levels in other divisions.
Meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque said on Thursday, “There is a high possibility of rainfall in Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions until the 19th of July, as per a bdnews24.com report.
“Rainfall may occur in other divisions as well due to the monsoon season. However, it will be lighter and cover fewer areas.
“Rainfall may increase in the northern regions on the 20th or 21st of July. The rainfall pattern may shift around the 24th, with an expected increase in rainfall over the coastal districts of the southern region.”
The Met office bulletin said the distinct low-pressure system located over India’s Jharkhand and adjoining areas has moved west-northwestwards and condensed into a depression over southeastern Uttar Pradesh and surrounding areas.
The monsoon axis stretches from India’s Rajasthan and Haryana through Bihar, West Bengal, and central parts of Bangladesh to Assam.
The monsoon wind is currently fairly active over Bangladesh and remains in a moderate state over the north Bay of Bengal.
