A scientific session on modern approach of a 3-layered protection to combat the airborne infectious disease was held recently at Hotel InterContinental in Dhaka.
The session, organised by Integro Pharma Limited, took place on Friday at the Crystal Ballroom in the hotel.
Professor Dr ABM Abdullah, personal physician of the prime minister, was the special guest at the programme while Integro Pharma MD and CEO Dr Zareen Delawar Hussain presented the main concept paper of the session.
Dr Abdullah gave an overview of the current pandemic situation and encouraged the use of personal ambient protection technology. He also advised on the mass availability of the product as soon as possible.
Dr Zareen, in her paper, scientifically proved that the only visible protections like using mask, sanitizing hand and maintaining social distance are not enough to combat airborne infections. She also proposed the use of personal ambient protection like Chlorine Dioxide emitting device Air Doctor to reduce bioburden load.
Professor Dr Firozuddin Ahmed, who was the keynote speaker at the session, explained the prevailing myths regarding the pandemic. He emphasized on the importance and effectiveness of Chlorine Dioxide emitting device Air Doctor as personal ambient protection against different bacteria, viruses, spores and fungi.
Prominent personality Dr Abdun Nur Tushar was also present during the session. In his speech, he highlighted on mental trauma and the ways people purchase medicines over the counter.
Dr Jamal Uddin Ahmed, chairman of Janata Bank, Professor Firoz Ahmed, chairman of the department of microbiology, NSTU, Professor Dr Farhad Monjur of Dhaka Shishu Hospital, Brigadier General Dr Parvez Ahmed, HOD of anesthesia and ICU and representative of voluntary organisations, were also present during the session.
