The price of premium-quality gold has increased by more than Tk 2,000 per bhori in Bangladesh as local jewellers revised the rate upward on Thursday.
The new rate of the precious metal will come into effect today (Friday), according to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BAJUS).
As per the revised rate, 22-carat gold will be sold at Tk 102,876 per bhori (11.664 grams).
On the other hand, the price of 21-carat gold is Tk 98,210 and 18-carat one Tk 84,214 per bhori.
The price of traditional gold is Tk 70,158 per bhori.
In the market, 22-carat gold ornaments were being sold at Tk 100,543 while 21-carat ones at Tk 95,994.
On the other hand, 18-carat gold ornaments sold at Tk 82,231 and traditional gold at Tk 68,584 on Thursday.
