Over 10.4m animals sacrificed on Eid-ul-Adha this year

More than 10.4 million animals were sacrificed across the country on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Adha this year.

According to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, as many as 0.3 million more animals were sacrificed this year compared to the previous year.

This year the highest number of animals was sacrificed in the Dhaka division while the Mymensingh division witnessed the lowest number, according to a BSS report.

As per the information received from the field level, around 2.5 million animals were sacrificed in the Dhaka Division, approximately 2.0 in Chattogram division, 2.4 million in Rajshahi division, around 1.0 million and 0.4 million in Khulna division and in Barisal division, 0.3 in Mymensingh division.

Of the sacrificed animals, 4.7 million were cows, 5.0 million were goats.
