Role: Innovation Grants Officer

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understanding of design curriculum and facilitation for soft skills training.
  • Strengthen youth leadership through targeted support of local youth-led and youth-serving organizations to promote youth participation as decision-makers and key contributors to individual, household, community, and national well-being.
  • Strengthen youth systems, in partnership with youth, to provide more coordinated and effective services, practices, and policies that embody the principles of BYLC.
  • BYLC's Strategies and project goals, policies, plans, and guidelines are properly maintained.
  • Support to enhance and establish strategies for organizational and institutional development, growth, and sustainability.
  • Initiatives to enhance BYLC's image and leadership role nationally and globally.
  • Institutional and program regulatory approvals and adherence to country laws and regulations.
  • Promote and always practice BYLC Values (Integrity, Respect Towards Others, Empathy, Excellence in Everything We Do, Continuous Development, and Practice Adapting Leadership).
  • Ensure the safeguarding and protection of the life and dignity of all associated personnel of BYLC and the assets and property.
  • Grants Management: Track the disbursement and utilization of BDT 10,000 funds provided to trained entrepreneurs.
  • Ensure compliance with grant guidelines and reporting requirements.
  • Manage the allocation of small grants provided during the training to Youth Leading Organizations (YLOs).
  • Capacity Building: Collaborate with Youth Leading Organizations (YLOs) to enhance their organizational capacity.
  • Provide guidance and support to YLOs to boost their operational efficiency and overall growth.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with entrepreneurs, YLOs, and other key stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between entrepreneurs and the organization to facilitate communication and problem-solving.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Collect and analyze data related to grant utilization and impact.
  • Prepare regular reports on the progress and outcomes of innovation grants and YLO development.
  • Innovation Promotion: Identify opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship within the organization and the community.
  • Encourage and support entrepreneurs in developing and implementing innovative projects that have business potential.
  • People Management and Relationship Building: (10%)
  • Conduct regular meetings and contribute to helping team members understand and establish goals and responsibilities to increase their capacity and engagement.
  • Receive feedback from team members and transform their feedback into action for continuous improvement and employee satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain inter-departmental collaboration and coordination concerning effective and efficient management
  • Establish and maintain liaison with existing and potential external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Candidates with a Degree of Master's in Business, Social Science, or any other discipline.
  • Experience Requirements: At least 3 years (s).

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 03 years (s) of a similar level of experience.
  • Experience in Business, Entrepreneurship, Nonprofit Management, etc.
  • Experience in project finance and grants management and administration.
  • Experience working with youth organizations, project field management, and training in any NGO/ development organization.
  • Experience in training, learning, and development management for USAID-funded projects will give an advantage.
  • Required technical skills: Strong understanding of financial concepts and entrepreneurship principles.
  • Experience in project planning, coordination, and field implementation.
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills in both Bangla and English.
  • Oral and written language skills in Bengali and English.
  • Excellent skills in G Suite (including Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive), presentation, advanced MS Excel, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Excellent report writing and analytical skills.
  • Effective coordination and collaboration with the government, local youth organizations, and the community in Manikganj and Gazipur.
  • Interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Required Soft Skills: Self-motivated and self-driven individuals can promote community engagement.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with colleagues and partners in a cross-cultural, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours is a critical requirement for this role.
  • Should be dedicated to daily task completion.
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, work independently, set priorities, effectively manage time and staff, and meet deadlines.
