Role: Junior Content Executive (Publishing)

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Content Management: Managing the content that goes on the platform, which includes reviewing, preparing creative assets, maintaining CMS, and publishinpromptly.
  • Quality Control: Ensuring that the content meets the quality standards of the platform, including image and sound quality, and adherence to copyright laws.
  • Coordination with other departments: Collaborating with other departments, such as marketing and legal, to ensure that the platform operates smoothly.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Monitoring and analyzing the performance of the content and the platform, and preparing reports for the management team.
  • User Experience/Content Curation: Ensuring that the user experience is seamless, from navigating the platform to accessing content and resolving any user complaints or issues.
  • Research and Innovation: Keeping up with the latest industry trends and implementing new ideas to enhance the platform's offerings and improve user engagement.

Requirements:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Publishing, or a related field provides a solid foundation in writing, editing, and publishing principles.
  • Experience: Prior experience in content creation, copywriting, or the publishing industry through internships, freelance work, or entry-level positions demonstrates practical skills and familiarity with publishing workflows.
  • Publishing Software: Proficiency in popular publishing software like Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, and content management systems (CMS) streamlines content creation and publishing processes.
  • Design Skills: Basic knowledge of design principles and graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop or Canva) allows for the creation of visually appealing content and collaboration with design teams.
  • SEO and Digital Analytics: Familiarity with search engine optimization (SEO) techniques, keyword research, and basic web analytics optimizes content visibility and enables performance measurement.
  • Social Media Management: Experience in managing social media platforms, creating engaging content, and implementing social media marketing strategies aids content promotion and reader engagement.
  • Publishing Platforms and Trends: Knowledge of e-book platforms, self-publishing platforms, and online content distribution channels help navigate the evolving publishing landscape.
  • Writing Samples or Portfolio: Providing a portfolio of writing samples, published articles, or a personal blog demonstrates writing abilities, creativity, and reader engagement.
  • Copyright and Intellectual Property Laws: Basic understanding of copyright laws, permissions, and intellectual property rights ensures compliance and content protection.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships, collaborating with team members, and effective communication with external stakeholders are crucial in the publishing industry.
  • OTT Platforms: Good knowledge of OTT platforms is desired.
  • G Suite Proficiency: Basic ability to use G Suite tools likeMail, Google Drive, and Google Docs is preferred.
  • Writing and Editing Skills: Proficient in creating engaging and error-free content across various formats, such as articles, blog posts, and social media.
  • Publishing Industry Knowledge: Understanding industry trends, best practices, different formats, distribution channels, and copyright laws.
  • Content Management: Familiarity with CMS and digital publishing platforms for effective content upload, formatting, and management.
  • Research Skills: Strong research abilities to gather information, fact-check, and ensure content accuracy with credible sources.
  • SEO and Digital Marketing: Basic understanding of SEO principles and digital marketing strategies, including keyword research and content promotion on social media.
  • Time Management and Organization: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration, receiving feedback, and incorporating revisions.
