Role: Deputy Manager

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify persons with disabilities, conduct rehabilitation assessments provide comprehensive rehabilitation services (functional rehabilitation therapy, caregiver training on home-based rehabilitation), and ensure regular follow-up.
  • Work closely with the deputy manager, technical and psychosocial officer, and other regional staff for complete solutions for persons with disability.
  • Facilitate provision of assistive devices, accessibility, and further interventions for persons with disabilities in complicated situations.
  • Provide hands-on coaching to the participants through home visits to build enterprise-related technical skills and enhance their soft skills and confidence to lift them from extreme poverty.
  • Case management support for persons with disabilities to participate in various livelihood activities, liaising with Senior Analyst-LNOB and field workers.
  • Collaborate with the Organisation of Persons with Disability (OPD) and UPG program in mapping the relevant service providers, and developing and implementing service mechanisms related to rehabilitation and other basic health services.
  • Contribute to indicator and quality of life tracking related to participants' progress towards graduation, through monitoring and documenting practices of the UPG program and their staff.
  • Build capacity for Disability Inclusion among all field staff.
  • Conduct participative staff capacity assessments for the UPG program and develop a capacity-building plan on disability-inclusive ultra-poverty graduation model (identification, prevention, rehabilitation, inclusion)
  • Support the design/revision of training packages and facilitate training sessions on inclusive livelihood topics for UPG staff, community people, and other stakeholders (face-to-face training, remote training, e-learning, etc).
  • Coordination with the UPG program to ensure referral of people with disabilities to basic health centres and specialized service providers, promoting quality services that address needs, and ensuring follow-up of those referrals.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with BRAC's mission's other technical, operational, and support departments according to the needs.
  • Supporting inputs to all-inclusive livelihood reporting needs (including field reporting).
  • Contribute to the monthly/quarterly situation report by providing relevant information and data to the Senior Analysts.
  • Maintain and update participant files related to rehabilitation assessments, plans, case studies, and progress updates.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy/ Occupational Therapy/ Speech and Language Therapy or any other relevant discipline from any recognized university.
  • Experience: At least 2 years.

Additional Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in relevant fields. Experience in extreme poverty and disability-related programs will get the preferences.
  • Proven assessment, planning, and intervention skills.
  • Practical skills in tools and task adaptation.
  • Need-based assistive device selection and measurement skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in Bengali and English.
  • Good communication and facilitation skills with different stakeholders.
  • Documentation and reporting skills.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office package- both in English and Bangla).
  • A clear understanding of rehabilitation, disability inclusion, disability and poverty dynamics, geographical and community contextual understanding, different cultural norms and behaviours, etc.
  • Competent in independent individualized comprehensive intensive rehabilitation assessment, plan, and intervention.
  • Hands-on competency in properly selecting assistive devices, measurement, and provision training.
  • Low-cost home modification, tools, and task adaptation expertise in community-level households.
  • Facilitate the capacity-building training session and referral.

 

Job Location: Anywhere in Bangladesh.

Salary: Negotiable.
