icddr,b is looking for a Research Investigator 

icddr,b  is an international health research organization located in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The Maternal and Child Health division of icddr,b offers a fellowship program (Research Fellow) for individuals who are interested in developing a career in public health research and currently in the formative stage. The Research Fellow will work under the direct supervision of eminent public health researchers and receive hands-on training, exposure, and experience at icddr,b. The fellowship program is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and performance of the individuals to become independent researchers at icddr,b.

Role: Research Investigator 

Job Responsibilities:

• Generate new ideas.
• Develop research proposal/protocol and overall strategy to implement the research studies/projects.
• Monitor implementation plan, review consumption of resources, prepare reports, and delegate project-related activities to ensure control and review.
• Provide training to data collectors, oversee field activities, identify areas of improvement, and provide necessary assistance as and when required;
• Analyze and interpret data.
• Prepare reports.
• Develop scientific manuscripts.
• Manage staff and guide/coach/mentor team members in the scientific arena (scientific writing, scientific capacity building) to develop good researchers.
• Coordinate with government stakeholders, donors, and relevant development partners.
• Prepare and manage the budget.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (such as Public Health/Social Science/Population Science/Statistics/Applied Statistics/Biostatistics/Epidemiology/Nutrition/ Development Studies/ Bioinformatics/ Information Technology/ Health Economics) or MBBS from a reputed institute with excellent academic records.
• Strong interpersonal and excellent communication and writing skills in English.
• Must have strong critical thinking skills, the ability to identify substantive problems, and the creative capacity to resolve these problems. S/he should be proactive, dynamic, and capable of working independently.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience. However, the length of experience may be relaxed for exceptional candidates.
• Candidates who have publications in international peer-reviewed journals with significant contributions will have preference.

Job Location: Mohakhali Campus, Dhaka.

Salary: 1,459,020 BDT ( Annually)
