Shimul promises to show respect for people’s sentiments in future

Popular drama director and actor Saraf Ahmed Zibon has described his presence in a recent advertisement by Coca-Cola Bangladesh as a part of my professional life only.
Shimul Sharma, another actor who also acted in the commercial, has sought an apology to the viewers who were hurt by his presence in the advertisement.
The two actors faced massive criticism on social media recently for taking part in the advertisement defying a social call to boycott ‘Israel-backed’ products due to genocide in Palestine as a large number of social media users believe Coca-Cola is an ‘Israel-backed’ product
They clarified their stance on Tuesday by posting statuses on their personal Facebook accounts.
Saraf Ahmed Zibon defended his involvement in the advertisement as a part of his professional life.
He said I have not taken Israel’s side in this commercial and I have never been pro-Israel.
The actor said he was hired by Coca-Cola Bangladesh for directing and acting in the advertisement. “I only presented the commercial based on information provided by them,” he wrote.
Zibon also pointed out his personal stance against any aggression against human rights.
Meanwhile, Shimul Sharma sought an apology for hurting the sentiment of countrymen. Making a promise to show respect towards people’s desires, he sought well wishes so that he could be much careful in choosing his works in future.
