Contributing to society for the upliftment of the impoverished lodgers, either by monetary support or assisting through rectifying current conditions to make an equitable community for all cohorts, is a motto to the social organizations. Being a forerunner of people in need, these organizations always translocate the postern tribulation of those persons, giving them the scope to bring a piece of gloom through their diversified activities demanding on time. Durbar Tarunno Foundation is one of the social organizations which worked for the people during financial crises or to help them during natural calamities or pandemic periods.
Muhammad Abu Abid is the Founder and Chairman of Durbar Tarunno Foundation. He said, "From the very beginning of my life, I was committed to working for society. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when people faced financial crisis, I thought to do something for them. Thus, the official journey of the Durbar Tarunno Foundation started at a large volume."
Abid added that I always try to help middle-aged people at my best in my organization. Often, they can not express their misery to people because of their social status, but they have to suffer a lot.
From the beginning of the Durbar Tarunno Foundation, Abid has undertaken several activities for society's betterment and welfare. The organization always recons the activities needed for emergencies, natural hardship, occurrences, or festivals.
The organization reached many people during the COVID-19 pandemic by distributing daily utensils; the middle and working class were also stakeholders in the project.
Also, in 2023, the Durbar Tarunno Foundation helped the flood-affected people in Satkania, Chattogram, by granting monetary support to several families.
The 'Amra Mali' project is another popular organization project started in 2022. Under this project, the people are requested to plant and nurse trees regularly, as the plants can only grow well with proper preservation. Under this project, the organization will plant almost 1 lakh or hundred thousand trees nationwide in 2024.
Also, to comfort the people, the foundation launched a free drink facility this year so that people could get refreshments from the excessive heat. During religious festivals, the organization also assists the poor and middle-class people to bring happiness to their doorsteps.
The organization's proud activities are highly appreciated at home and abroad.
For its praiseworthy tasks, it has received several national and international awards. Some are the Bangladesh Youth Volunteer Award—2023, the Mahatma Gandhi International Peace Award—2024, and the Iconic Excellency Award—2023 from Nepal.
Muhammad Abu Abid believes continuous support from the people, including the media, has helped him to work further and better for the people. He is indebted to those who were beside him when no one was.
"In my journey with Durbar Tarunno Foundation, journalists always helped me to get to where I am today. They published news about my organization, which helped to introduce me to a large number of people. I will always be grateful to the journalists for helping me," Muhammad Abu Abid said, acknowledging the media's effort.
