TasteAtlas, renowned for its comprehensive exploration of traditional dishes, local ingredients, and authentic restaurants worldwide, recently unveiled its World's Best Non-Alcoholic Beverage list. The spotlight fell on Masala tea, positioning it in the coveted second spot, just behind Mexico's Aguas Frescas.

For Indians, the news of Masala tea clinching the second spot is met with pride and a touch of humour, with many expressing that if they determined the ranking, Masala tea would undoubtedly claim the number one position. For them, tea is not just a beverage; it's an emotion that accompanies every aspect of daily life. Whether it's the first cup in the morning, a break during work, or a comforting sip between meals, tea holds a special place in the hearts of tea aficionados.

TasteAtlas introduced Masala tea with a vivid description, highlighting its unique blend of sweetened black tea and milk infused with a masala mix. The masala mix typically includes aromatic spices such as cardamom, ground ginger, cloves, cinnamon, and black peppercorns, creating a symphony of flavours that tantalize the taste buds.

Taking to Instagram to share the exciting news, TasteAtlas expressed, "tea masala is an aromatic beverage originating from India. It is made with a combination of sweetened black tea and milk that is spiced with a masala mix - which typically includes cardamom, ground ginger, cloves, cinnamon, and black peppercorns."

Mexico's Aguas Frescas claimed the top spot on the World's Best Non-Alcoholic Beverage list, a refreshing drink crafted from a medley of fruits, cucumbers, flowers, seeds, and cereals blended with sugar and water. The combination of vibrant flavours and the cultural significance of Aguas Frescas secured its place as the reigning champion on TasteAtlas' prestigious list.
