A total of 10,638 candidates have cleared the 46th BCS preliminary exam, according to results published by the Public Service Commission.
The job seekers might have to sit for the written test in August.
The results of the preliminary test were made available on its website on Thursday.
The candidates will have to type PSC, then 46 with a space and registration number with another space and send it to 16222 from a Teletalk mobile to get the results.
A total of 254,561 applicants took part in a 200-mark test for the 46th Bangladesh Civil Service examinations at eight divisional cities on April 26.
The PSC issued the notice for the 46th BCS for appointments to 3,140 government posts on November 30 last year.
The submission of application began on December 10. As many as 337,986 candidates applied for the test this year.
The exam will appoint 489 applicants to the general cadre, 2,074 to the professional or technical cadre, 520 to general education and 57 to technical education.
The schedule for the written examination will be notified later on the PSC’s website, the commission said.
