14 health camps to be set up to treat flood victims in Feni

The Feni district authority has decided to set up 14 health camps in Feni district to provide treatment to the flood victims and deal with the post-flood situation.

Army health camps in district towns along with six health camps in six upazilas and seven private hospitals have been included in this programme, Feni Deputy Commissioner Shahina Akhter said on Monday, UNB reports.

She said that Feni Diabetes Hospital has sufficient manpower including doctors and they will make the arrangements themselves. Dedicated health camps are being set up outside the health complex at the upazila level.

Besides, Army Health Camp is being set up in the newly constructed building of the Family Planning Department in the municipal area, she added.

Meanwhile, a special team of 30 doctors has already arrived in Feni and more doctors will join to serve the flood victims under these medical camps, she added.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Shihab Uddin said free treatment of flood victims will be provided in the following hospitals till further orders.

The hospitals are - Concept Hospital, Medilab, Medinova, ZU Model, Al Aqsa, Feni Diabetes and Mission Hospital.

Feni Sadar Hospital will be back to its service once the water recedes.
