Services have resumed in 361 police stations across the country from today (Friday) after remaining closed for three consecutive days.
According to Police Headquarters, a total of 361 Police Stations have started operations on Friday across the country.
Of them, 70 are from 110 Metropolitan Police Stations and 291 are from 529 Range Police Stations, reports UNB.
Miscreants attacked and set fire to almost all police stations of DMP, Police Headquarters said.
Under DMP, services have resumed in 29 out of 50 police stations. Activities have resumed in those police stations which have suffered less damages.
Meanwhile, the police didn’t even have the scope to sit down in the police stations that have been attacked, vandalised, and set on fire. So, 21 police stations of DMP have not resumed their activities yet.
"As the rest 21 police stations were affected seriously, DMP has not started their activities yet.”
However, the activities of these stations will resume within days in an alternative way, said a senior police officer requesting anonymity.
Meanwhile, operations of 11 police stations bordering Rangpur range and 10 police stations bordering Khulna range have started under overall supervision of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
