At least 42 people who sustained bullet wounds in different areas including Dhaka after prime minister Sheikh Hasina was forced to resign and flee to the country have been declared dead at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the last three days.
During this time, hundreds of people, who were injured in clashes in different parts of the country including the capital, were taken to the DMCH.
Of them, 42 succumbed to their injuries during this period. Among the deceased, 30 people died on Tuesday, 8 people died on Wednesday, and 4 died on Thursday.
The bodies of many of them have also been handed over to their families. The rest of the bodies have been kept in the hospital morgue, according to a local news portal.
In the last three days, from Tuesday morning to Thursday night, about 150 people were taken to DMCH hospital with bullet wounds, the hospital sources said on Friday.
Some of the victims died before reaching the hospital. Ansar, police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members were also among them, the sources added.
Multiple individuals remained unidentified from various locations, including Jatrabari, Uttara, Hatirjheel, and Postogola.
