The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested three individuals and recovered 6,000 yaba tablets along with 99 kilograms of hashish during separate anti-narcotics operations in the capital.
In one raid on Wednesday night, a team of Jatrabari Police Station searched the 10th floor of VIP Tower 2 in the Rayerbagh Khan Bari area.
The police recovered 6,000 yaba tablets and detained Md Alamgir Hossain, 45, and Md Jihad, 20.
According to police, the duo had been involved in procuring and distributing yaba tablets in Jatrabari and other parts of Dhaka for a long time.
In a separate operation on Tuesday night, the Detective Branch (DB) of Gulshan Circle seized 99 kgs of hashish during a raid in the Banani area.
The accused, Md Ekub Ali Sheikh, 51, was arrested at the scene.
Police said Ekub Ali Sheikh procured hashish from Kurigram and other frontier areas before selling it in Banani and elsewhere in the city.
