Syed Abed Ali, arrested for allegedly being involved in leaking question papers of government jobs exams, was reportedly never a driver for any chairman of the Public Service Commission (PSC).
He served as a driver for three members and a joint secretary during his career, Jago News and Bangladesh Journal reported, citing a note from the administrative wing of the PSC.
The note, however, was not published on the PSC website as it was neither an official notification nor statement, according to the reports.
Media outlets had previously reported that Ali was a driver for a PSC chairman, apparently prompting the PSC to issue the unofficial note.
