The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has conducted a series of operations in 37 offices of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) across the country to ensure quick and hassle free services.
The Commission conducted the nationwide operations at the BRTA offices upon receiving allegations of taking bribes through brokers for giving driving licenses and fitness certificates, deputy director (public relations) Md Akterul Islam told BSS.
Separate teams of the lone anti-graft watchdog body conducted the operations at BRTA offices in the capital city’s Rampura, Uttara, and Keraniganj and Narayanganj, Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram, Patuakhali, Tangail and Mymensingh districts.
The massive operations were conducted in seven districts to put an end to the corruption, irregularities, fraudulence activities of the brokers at the BRTA offices countrywide.
