The family of Squadron Leader Asim Jawad, who recently died in a trainer fighter jet crash, met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence Ganabhaban on Thursday evening.
Jawad's father Dr Md Aman Ullah, mother Nilufar Akhter, wife Rifat Antora, daughter Ayeeza and son Ayaaz met the premier and spent some time with her, said PM's Deputy Press Secretary KM Shakhawat Moon.
During the meeting, Jawad's mother burst into tears after embracing the prime minister who consoled her and their other family members.
The PM inquired about their well-being and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
On May 09, Jawad was killed when a trainer jet of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) crashed into the Karnaphuli river at Patenga in Chattogram.
