A man was stabbed to death in the capital’s Mohammadpur area on Monday evening.
Kamal Hossain, an Awami League leader and former education secretary of the ruling party for ward no. 33, was attacked with sharp weapons by unidentified assailants.
"The assailants carried out a premeditated attack using a sharp weapon," said Mohammadpur Police Station chief Dipak Kumar Saha, as per bdnews24.com reports.
Kamal was taken to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, also known as Pangu Hospital, at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in Dhaka, where he was declared dead by doctors.
Ward Jubo League’s Organisational Secretary Faruk Hossain said Kamal was attacked at the end of the second lane in Katashur.
The Police have yet to identify the assailants or determine the motive behind the killing.
