A bus of Akash Paribahan was set on fire by unidentified miscreants in Dhaka’s Khilkhet on Monday amid the countrywide 48-hour blockade enforced by BNP, Jamaat and like-minded opposition parties.
The incident took place around 8:35 pm and two firefighting units of Kurmitola Fire Station rushed to the spot around 8:42 pm, said Tanha Bin Zasim, station officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Control Room (media cell).
No casualties were reported from the incident.
Earlier, miscreants set a BRTC double-decker bus, carrying officials and employees of Dhaka University, on fire near the Mirpur-10 crossing in the capital on Monday afternoon.
The incident happened on the second day of the ongoing 48-hour countrywide blockade, which the BNP, Jamaat, and like-minded opposition parties called.
