An Ansar member allegedly ended his life by hanging himself, keeping his wife on a video call, in Chuadanga district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Ariful Islam (35), son of Nuruzzaman of Joydebpur village in Dinajpur Sadar upazila.
Ariful was serving as a Sepoy of Dingedah Ansar Battalion in Chuadanga district, according to a private television channel.
The incident occurred at a rented house, adjacent to the Ansar Battalion, around 11:00 pm.
According to an official of the Ansar Battalion, Ariful went to visit the village to his family on Thursday on leave. After the vacation, the Ansar member returned to the rented house alone on Sunday.
Ariful had an altercation with his wife. Because of this, he might have committed suicide by hanging himself keeping his wife on a video call, said the official.
