In a bid to bolster national security, the Bangladesh Army has been deployed in 417 police stations across the country, including 29 in the capital Dhaka. The primary objective is to recover lost police arms and enhance protection for key installations such as Bangabhaban, the Prime Minister's Office, and the data centre at Mohakhali.

Amid concerns about social media rumours aiming to incite panic, the public is urged to rely on their own judgment and remain calm when interacting with army personnel. The Army reassures citizens of their steadfast commitment to both public safety and state needs, according to an ISPR press statement Friday.

Currently, the Bangladesh Army maintains a presence in 58 districts through 206 camps nationwide, safeguarding lives, property, and critical government facilities. Notably, two teams of law enforcement, supported by the Army, successfully thwarted prison breaks at Jamalpur Central Jail and Chattogram Central Jail, ensuring the security of arms and ammunition.

Additionally, the Army has intervened to prevent vandalism and looting in various areas, and protected a temple from an attack in Noakhali district, reinforcing the security of minority communities.

In Cox's Bazar, Army personnel have been deployed to safeguard camps housing displaced Myanmar citizens and conduct joint patrols with other law enforcement agencies.
