An autorickshaw driver was killed after a speeding truck hit the three-wheeler in the city's Mugda area on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Zakir Hossain (44) of Amtali upazila of Barguna district, as per media reports.
The incident occurred in front of the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Shipahi Mustofa Kamal Stadium around 6:00 am.
Shakil Khan, son of the deceased, told the media that a speeding truck hit the autorickshaw near the Titipara rail crossing leaving his father critically injured.
The victim was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Zakir dead.
