Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader called on quota protesters to await a final verdict as the matter is sub-judice.
He made the call during a press conference at the political office of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi on Monday.
Quader also asked the protesters to refrain from any movement that causes public suffering.
Regarding university teachers protesting the Prottoy Scheme of the universal pension scheme, the Awami League general secretary said, “There may be misunderstanding here. We are in touch with them. However, we have not yet sat in talks with them.”
Awami League Joint Secretaries General Mahbubul Alam Hanif, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, and Organising Secretary BM Mozammel Haque were among those present.
