Over the past six months, there has been particularly remarkable expansion, marked by the establishment of 24 new factories, including 16 platinum and 8 gold certifications. Mohiuddin Rubel, the Director of BGMEA, underscored and brought attention to this growth. He emphasised the pivotal role Bangladesh plays in steering the global market towards a more environmentally friendly approach to garment production, according to a UNB report.

Rubel further pointed out the importance of this commitment to sustainability, not just for commendation but also for the enduring success and viability of the industry.

Rubel also emphasised that the increasing number of green factories in Bangladesh, certified with LEED, demonstrates the garment industry's unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability.

A significant marker of this achievement is that 54 of the top 100 LEED green factories globally are now in Bangladesh. This includes 9 out of the top 10, and 18 of the top 20, a milestone that is likely to draw more investment and partnerships.
