Following a protest that blocked the road, national carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines will hold new recruitment examinations for the open post of commercial assistant on Mar 15.
The two centres where the exam was suspended are Lalmatia Girls High School and College and Lalmatia Government Women’s College, reports bdnews24.com.
Boshra Islam, Biman public relations general manager, announced the decision, citing the Dhaka University Institute of Business Administration, or IBA. The IBA is responsible for the preparation of the question papers, the arranging of the centres, and the evaluations of the tests.
On Saturday, IBA Director (Acting) Shakil Huda, sent a letter to Md Abdur Rafiq, director of Biman's Administration and Human Resources Department.
The letter said that IBA had completed a recruitment examination on behalf of Biman on Mar 1. The examinations at 13 of 15 centres was successfully completed, but unfortunately the recruitment process could not be completed at the remaining two centres.
Under the circumstances, IBA says it has decided to re-take the examinations of the candidates from the mentioned centres on Mar 15.
The letter also stated that the results of the exams of all the centres will be published simultaneously.
On Saturday afternoon, a group of students blocked the road in Dhaka’s Asad Gate area, alleging the question paper had leaked.
Although they later left the road, the tests from two centres were suspended.
Biman says 31,917 candidates appeared for the exam at 15 centres.
