A student of Brac University was found hanging in his mess room in the Merul Badda area of Dhaka on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Asaduzzaman Durbo, 25, son of Shamsuzzaman Babul of Kaunia upazila in Barisal. Durbo was a final-year student in the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department of the university.
Police and the landlord of the mess broke open the door with no response from inside and found the body hanging from a ceiling fan with a towel around his neck.
The body has been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy.
