Broiler chicken, eggs prices soar over the week

The prices of broiler chicken and eggs witnessed a hike on Friday, compared to the corresponding day of the previous week.

The information collected from the market observations shows that broiler chicken is currently being sold at Tk 190 per kilogramme, whereas it was Tk 180 per kilogramme last week, according to a local news agency.

Moreover, prices of Sonali, Sonali Hybrid, and Layer chickens are witnessing an upward trend.

According to a seller at the capital’s Taltola market, broiler chickens are being sold at Tk 190 per kilogramme, Sonali breed at Tk 300, Sonali Hybrid at Tk 290, Desi chicken at Tk 500 to Tk 520, and Layer chicken at Tk 290 per kilogramme. He further stated that the prices of all breeds of chickens are gradually rising.

Meanwhile, red eggs are priced at Tk 130 a dozen and duck eggs at Tk 200. It is worth noting that last week, the cost of a dozen red eggs was Tk 120.
