Some unidentified miscreants set a bus on fire at Zero Point in the capital’s Gulistan area on Monday, the second day of the 48-hour countrywide blockade called by the BNP and like-minded opposition parties.
The arsonists torched the bus of Tanjil Paribahan at 2:23 pm, said Shahjahan Sikder, deputy assistant director (DAD) of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters media cell.
On information, two firefighting units of Siddique Bazar fire station reached the spot and extinguished the fire around 2:40pm, he added.
No casualties were reported, said the officer.
According to the Fire Service, 252 vehicles have been set on fire during the blockades and hartals since October 28.
