Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus attended the Namaj-e-Janaza of Adviser AF Hassan Ariff at the Dhanmondi No.7 road mosque on Friday.
Prof Yunus returned to Dhaka following a 10-hour journey from Cairo, where he participated in the D-8 Summit, reports UNB.
Shortly after his plane landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, he received the news of Adviser Ariff's sudden demise due to a suspected heart attack.
The Chief Adviser immediately proceeded to the hospital to console the bereaved family.
AF Hassan Ariff, a distinguished lawyer and former Attorney General of Bangladesh, passed away at 3:10 pm in a Dhaka hospital at the age of 85.
