Car explosion leaves five Bangladeshis dead in UAE

Five Bangladeshi citizens were killed in a car explosion in Al Shahamah area in Abu Dhabi in United Arab Emirates on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Ibadul Islam, 35, son of Sheikh Ibrahim; Rashed, 32, son of Abdul Hakim; Md Rana, 30, son of Lutfor Rahman; Md Raju, 24, son of Sheikh Irshad, hailing from Dhaka’s Nawabganj upazila; and Hira Miah, 22, son of Monju, hailing from Dohar upazila.

The Bangladeshi nationals were working at a company in Ajman, UAE. They were going to their workplace through a vehicle. The vehicle exploded when it reached the Al Shahamah area in Abu Dhabi around 10:30 am (Bangladesh time) on Sunday.

All of them died on the spot after the accident. Families of the deceased in Bangladesh heard the news of the accident on Sunday afternoon.
