Bangladesh Bank governor Abdur Rouf Talukder has not attended the office on the first working day after the fall of the Awami League-led government.
However, the central bank lifted restrictions on the journalists’ entry to its premises.
Central bank Deputy Governor Kazi Saidur Rahman confirmed this during a views exchange meeting with the leadership of the Economic Reporters’ Forum.
He said that the governor was not attending the office due to mental pressure. He had asked all to continue with their respective duties.
Deputy Governors Nurun Nahar, Md Habibur Rahman, Md Khurshid Alam, along with Executtive Director Mezbaul Haque, among others, were present at the meeting, on behalf of the central bank.
On the other hand, on behalf of the ERF, its President Refayet Ullah Mridha and General Secretary Abul Kashem, among others, were present.
