Citizens’ Committee, Student Movement to float new political party on Feb 28

The National Citizens’ Committee and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement are going to jointly launch a new political party on Friday, February 28.

The party will be formally introduced at 3 pm on the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban premises, Sarjis Alam, chief organiser of the National Citizens Committee, told a press conference in Dhaka city.

The groups have been conducting a public opinion survey titled "New Bangladesh in Your Eyes" since Feb 5 to gauge support for the initiative.

More than 300,000 people had participated in the survey until Sunday afternoon, sharing their views both online and in districts across the country.
